Richard Sammon

Richard is an Audit Partner at BDO Dublin. He has over 24 years of experience in audit and financial reporting. He completed his training with a Big Four firm and progressed to the position of engagement leader during his time there, holding the status of Responsible Individual for the last 7 years.

Richard has overall responsibility for the delivery of exceptional audit and assurance services to a sizeable portfolio of clients across a wide spectrum of industry sectors, including software development, supply chain solutions, distribution, not-for-profit, and professional services.

He serves organisations that range in size and scale from large multinational groups to smaller indigenous businesses and has a keen interest in private business.

Richard is a trusted business advisor who continuously invests in building and fostering relationships and seeks to bring fresh thinking and best practice advice to his clients.
He has strong technical and business acumen and ensures clients are kept informed of developments in accounting standards and regulatory updates.

Richard also has vast experience in the provision of a wide range of non-audit assurance services, including accounting advice on various acquisitions and group restructuring activities and supporting family businesses with succession and business ownership activities. He was also Chairperson on the board of directors for a voluntary nursing home for a period of 7 years until 2020.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
